About us

We are a family of three and two pets: Eric, Som, Selyne,
Pepper (poodle) and Kitty (cat).

We live 20 km from Chiangrai city which is in the
north of Thailand or 785 km north of Bangkok.

We love to interact with travelers from different
parts of the world and hope to learn and appreciate
each others customs, culture and religion.

Hopefully, this will create a harmonious world to live in.

Over the years, we have hosted several home stay guests from
all over the world, thus, we have amassed some wealth of experience.

I could not imagine more gracious and accommodating hosts than Eric and Som.

They were most helpful in introducing us to the local lifestyle, and went out of their way to ensure that we had opportunity to see and do whatever was of particular interest to us
.

And Som’s cooking is not to be beat.

After a meal of whole steamed fish and 'Penang pork', veges and oyster mushroom, I can barely move. The food has been great and it’s been a privilege to be involved in the preparation – especially pounding Rendang paste!

I haven’t learn much Thai language though – it’s too hard! I have loved riding out on the dirt roads between the roads on the bike – glowing green and mountains in backdrop – and nice and flat!

Eric and Som have been very attentive and helpful, and good company. It’s been a great way to start my time in Thailand.

We just can't thank you enough for the amazing time we had with you. All the experience we had in your beautiful area was wonderful but spending time getting to know your family was the best. You will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. The Savards.

We were recommended to use Eric as a guide while visiting Chiang Rai and took up his offer of a home stay with his family. This was the best decision we could have taken as Eric, his wife Som and his daughter Selyne made us all feel extremely welcome in their home. The food cooked by Som was fabulous and in our view is better than we have tasted in many Thai restaurants. We will all miss the wonderful food.

A homestay is an amazing way to learn first hand about the Thai culture. To live in a village and experience village life has been a fantastic experience - from going to the village market with Som at 6.00 am to buy food for the evening meal, to watching the water buffalo wander down the lane on their way home from the fields are all experiences we will never forget.

With Eric's help, we have seen many of the area's attraction's but for our daughters the highlight was playing with Selyne and biking around the village together - they have all been lovely playmates and will miss each other. We cannot thank you all enough for allowing us to stay in your lovely home and be part of your daily village life. You are wonderful hosts and we will all miss you very much.
